Latest addition to Methods Machine Tools’ Kiwa Line

As an addition to its Kiwa line, Methods Machine Tools offers the compact, direMMS_1215_n_methodsct-drive KMH-300 horizontal machining center. The machine features a 30-taper, 15,000-rpm, 12.6″ (320-mm) dual-pallet design, as well as a 140″ × 107″ (3,556 × 2,718-mm) footprint (including chip conveyor), making it well-suited for smaller shops. The HMC’s X, Y and Z axes measure 18.1″ × 18.1″ × 13.7″ (460 × 460 × 350 mm) within a 12.59-in2 work area.

In addition to a 30-tool automatic toolchanger, the machine also features an integrated full-rotary B axis and uses a FANUC Oi-MD control with a 15″ LCD screen. It is said to provide good chip evacuation and easy access for setup/maintenance, and it comes with a spindle oil cooling system and coolant-through ballscrews.
