Quality constantly implemented in the corporate system thanks to investments in state-of-the-art technology, with highly computerized production planning and control.

Tormatic, on the market for over thirty years, manufactures special components upon design, both in mass-productions and in small/very small batches, sharing anyway a common characteristic: the high degree of required precision. High qualitative standards can be reached only relying on adequate instruments, managed by skilled and motivated personnel. Therefore, a strong focus on technological innovations, resulting in a machine fleet constantly evolving and making use of highly advanced technical solutions, able to satisfy effectively the growing demand for quality, especially when workpieces show some criticalities. «The production of the so-called “difficult pieces “– they explain at Tormatic – has become daily practice for us. Obviously assuring high qualitative standards, with tests on the totality of the production and deliveries strictly complying with the established terms. Not only production, then, but also logistics».

The Marche company, which today engages over 50 employees, operates in various sectors, among which stand out automotive, oil-hydraulics and hydraulics, produces components, even with high difficulty degree, addressing by about 75% the domestic market and the European market with the remaining 25%. The machined materials are manifold: special steels, stainless and alloyed, including those with significant percentages of titanium, aluminium, brass, bronze and polymeric materials. The bronze processing, anyway carried out in the company, plays a relatively marginal role whereas the aluminium alloy working, due to the strong use in the reference sectors, is becoming more and more important.

Production and control

To grant the full customer satisfaction, assuring quality and absolute compliance with the specifications, the production must be mandatorily assured by a noteworthy machine fleet and by a metrological room performing all necessary tests. «Our machine fleet includes brand-new single-spindle and multi-spindle lathes, the  latter equipped with state-of-the-art Numerical Control and with a range of up-to-date instruments for measuring and assessing product quality standards: three-dimensional control machines, profile projectors, round machines, durometers, roughness testers, micrometres and digital gauges, male thread gauges and nut rings– explain Tormatic operators – Of particular relevance the new optical measuring system Hommel contour 310, which allows executing automatically the measuring and registration of all external values ».

More in detail, the multi-spindle division includes 21 lathes (Gildemeister, Schuette, Mori Say) with 6 or 8 stations, with spindle stop for lateral holes and milling, and bar passage for diameters from Ø 6 to Ø 50; for Tormatic’s production, particular importance hold the CNC multi-spindle machines, which represent the company’s feather in the cap, especially the 2 Schuette SC 7-46 CNC (new 2015), very recent implementations, totally NC, and Mori SAY TMZ 6/42 CNC (new 2015).

In the CNC single-spindle turning department are installed 28 state-of-art lathes (Mori Seiky, Miyano, Biglia, Muratec), equipped with high-tech devices for very complex machining, able to grant the conformity to the strict design specifications, in particular concentricity, axiality, and strict tolerances, with machines with even 8 controlled axes. The bar passage is included between Ø 5 and Ø 80, with the possibility of machining workpieces up to Ø 200 with automatic loader. Latest introduced the CNC lathe Celoria 742/40 (new 2016) with maximum bar passage of Ø40, which can manufacture components with maximum length of 1000mm.

The machine fleet includes also 4 brand-new mobile headstock Hanwha, Citizen and Star models.

On machine board, sample controls are performed during the process, with measuring instruments interfaced with the corporate information system for the constant verification of data and their correct filing. They have recently introduced an automated control machine, Dimac MCV5, for the measurement and selection of the totality of turned components. In fact, the 100% selection is required by the automotive industry, where it is essential to tend to “zero rejects”, even if it is pursued also by other commodity sectors.

«The quality of our products and, especially, of our machining processes is assured by the certification of our Quality System, attained according to the ISO 9001:2008 regulation and specifically for the automotive industry, in conformity with the ISO/TS 16949:2009 regulation – third edition» underlines Tormatic, with pride.

FREE PASS CONFIDENCE AND WARRANTY
The research of the quality factor, constantly implemented in the corporate system, has led Tormatic to receive from its trusted customers the Free Pass, i.e. the immediate approval, without further controls, of the quality of its products and services.

The Free Pass represents also an important cultural exchange in the customer-supplier relationship since it presupposes a total confidence in the supplier’s capability of complying with contractual provisions. With Free Pass, in fact, we mean customers’ acceptance modality of a material/good based on the absence of any control. Therefore, the conventional conflictual customer-supplier logic, according to which the customer mistrusts the supplier, is surpassed, shifting to a stricter and stricter collaboration, where quality is assured by a “sound” manufacturing process upstream the customer.
