Fiat India aims to increase its business. The car manifacturer has launched 300,000th vehicle from its manufacturing plant located in Ranjangaon, Pune. Fiat also supplies petrol and diesel engines to various auto makers in India including Maruti Suzuki India and Tata Motors. In 2013, Fiat touched the mark of manufacturing 5,00,000 powertrains from its Indian manufacturing unit.
In Indian market, Fiat is offering just two models, one is the upgraded which the company rolled out recently, the other one is Punto hatchback. A tweaked version of Punto is going to be launched during the festive season. This year Fiat will also launch Avventura crossover. In march, at the 2014 Auto Expo, the company displayed Fiat Abarth 500 along with Punto facelift, Linea facelift and Avventura crossover. Abarth is the performance oriented sub brand of Fiat which will also be inducted in India. Abarth 500 will be brought in India as a completely built unit.
In order to expand its presence and improve its sales in India, Fiat is also reflecting upon introduce some Chrysler cars in India as a part of premium segment. Apart from inducting new cars in India, Fiat is also working aggressively towards expanding its dealership network. After ending the agreement
with Tata Motors in 2013, Fiat has opened around 108 standalone showrooms in India. By the end of this year Fiat eyes opening 42 new Indian dealerships taking the total number of its exclusive outlets to 150.
