Italian company Magneti Marelli plans to expand its Lee County operations, creating 76 jobs in the next three years. Part of Magneti Marelli S.p.A., Powertrain designs, develops and manufactures engines and transmissions components for cars, motorbikes and light vehicles.
The company qualified for a grant of up to $225,000 from the One North Carolina Fund, which provides financial assistance to attract business projects to the state. Companies receive no money up front and must meet job and investment targets to obtain grant funds, which are matched by local governments.
