The transfer evolution of BTB

951

BTB’s first transfer machine, BB1, has been built in 1987 and is still working and machining parts ever since. From those days the technological development has made huge steps. The continuous research and improvement of technology led to an evolution of the transfer machine, making it so it contain all the latest and best technologies available from all the machine tools on the market. To predict future productions isn’t enough, it is necessary to innovate, research new technologies, extrapolate from the machine all its potential. The solutions that BTB Transfer developed over the years to give answers that satisfy the market have been several:

  • Integration of stations for part cleaning and check;o Integration of stations for part cleaning and check;o Integration of stations for part loading / unloading;
  • Systems for the quick change of the toolholders;o Integrated tool change device “Curbiter” inside the machine;o Clampings with fourth and fifth axis with torque motor and CNC control, Direct Drive indexing table;
  • Indexing table with “Direct Drive” (BTB patent) motor, allowing table rotation in a few tenths of a second;o Two CNC, Bosch Kernel and Fanuc.

The introduction of a second numeric control will be for BTB Transfer the new at EMO Hannover. «An introduction – says BTB’s Engineering Manager, Dr. Ferruccio Bonardi – that allowed us to get the best management advantage from the machine through two different systems, and to move even more towards being customer-oriented». Many companies, especially the bigger ones with a strong automation, prefer to keep the same chosen CN for as many machines as possible. «To propose to a customer a product he already uses – goes on Bonardi – and of which already has a technical training, both for the ordinary management and the maintenance, has a considerable advantage».

Logistics, provisions, spare parts compatibility, technical assistance, staff training, warehouse management, from the motors to the electronic components down to the automation, may limit the customer to look at one brand to simplify and reduce all those indirect expenses on the production that weight on the company. All these innovations have brought a small local reality to brave the world market in competition with realities already accomplished in the world of transfer machines. About the future of the company speaks the owner: «The next challenge – says President Dr. Mansueto Bonomi – is the generational change; my son, the oldest, is already integrated in the company and after three years of “cutting his teeth” at the moment is taking care of the marketing where, together with his colleagues, managed to bring freshness to the company image; the second son should enter next year».
